The service is intended to supplement interpretation services in districts where there are eligible citizens of voting age who are considered limited English proficient in languages currently not covered by the NYC Board of Elections. The NYCCEC's poll site interpretation services supplement but do not replace nor duplicate the NYC Board of Elections' interpretation services. The NYC Civic Engagement Commission (NYCEC) provides language assistance in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin), French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, Polish, Russian, Urdu, and Yiddish at selected poll sites on Saturday, June 25th, Sunday, June 26th, and Tuesday, June 28th. It can't be your employer or union representative. It can be someone like a friend, family member or poll worker.
